Certificate Course on Climate Change

Climate change is not just an environmental problem but a great challenge and threat to development as well. To develop Climate Leadership, State Knowledge Management Centre on Climate Change, EPCO is launching the 4th league of a four week Certificate Course on Climate Change during 05 March to 28 March 2019.

Leading experts and practitioners will share their insights on climate change and sustainable development. The course will also zoom in on implementation of projects focusing on climate change, sustainable development and environment.

This certificate course of EPCO is quite rigorous and demands commitment on the part of the participants. It discusses various challenges posed by climate change and environmental degradation, and how governments respond, adapt and plan to implement solutions for environmental conservation and sustainable development.

The certificate course is being offered in a professional and innovative manner. Besides class room lectures and presentations, audio visuals tools will be used. Participants will be encouraged to engage in meaningful dialogues and discourses on the course content. Exposure visits to fields, labs and institutions will be organized to have first-hand understanding of the issues. On successful completion, a certificate of participation will be given.

Classroom sessions will be only on weekdays i.e. from Monday to Friday. First two weeks (W-1, W-2,) will be devoted to intense classroom sessions. Week three (W-3) will have outstation field visit. Also, week three (W-3) and four (W-4) will be for self-study assignments.

C4- Objectives - This intensive and engaging four weeks Certificate Course on Climate Change (C4) intends to groom and develop a cadre of professional on scientific, social, economic and policy aspects of climate change and sustainable development. This course aims to:
• Broaden understanding about inter-linkages of climate change, sustainable development and environment
• Facilitate thinking about ways to integrate sustainability principles in policy process
• Create a sense of responsibility as concerned citizen and
• Develop leadership qualities to act as agent of change.

Online registration deadline: 25th February 2019 1700 hrs for 4th League of C4

*Note: Candidates need to apply for any one league of C4 as per their convenience. Candidates are not required to pay course fee during online application process. Only those candidates finally selected by the interview panel for the course have to deposit course fee through a Demand Draft / Cheque addressed to Executive Director, EPCO payable at Bhopal on or before the commencement of course, else their candidature will stand cancelled.
